Full year
The Grade 6 Physical Education program is designed to develop students' fundamental movement skills, game strategies, and personal and social responsibility through a variety of activities. Our curriculum is aligned with the four SHAPE standards, ensuring students grow in their movement competence, game understanding, personal and social behavior, and fitness knowledge. Using a “me” lens, students focus on their individual growth by setting personal goals, reflecting on their progress, and building foundational skills that support lifelong physical activity.
Throughout the year, students engage in movement activities such as badminton, Gaelic football, outdoor adventure, fitness, and softball. They learn to track and move into position, apply tactics, and demonstrate control in game play while also building self-management skills and an awareness of their role in creating a safe and inclusive environment. By emphasizing self-awareness and personal responsibility, our Grade 6 PE program empowers students to take ownership of their learning and recognize how their choices impact their own development and success in physical activity.
